Registered Massage Therapist
Peace River Physical Therapy is now hiring Permanent Full-time Registered Massage Therapist.
Duties include:
- Assess clients by conducting range of motion, muscle tests and propose treatment plans
- Explain procedures, risks and benefits to clients
- Administer massage techniques, treating soft tissues and joints of the body through soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain and lower grade mobilizations, remedial exercise programs and client self-help programs
- Suggest home care instructions and provide information about techniques for further postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation and rehabilitative exercises
- Maintain records of treatments given
- May consult with other health care professionals such as physiotherapists and chiropractors when developing treatment
Wage rate: Wages of $36 per hour for 32 to 40 hours work per week.
Education and Certification Requirements
• Completion of a minimum 2,200-hour (18–24 month) Diploma in Massage Therapy from an accredited Canadian college or an equivalent foreign credential (ECA required).
• Eligible for registration with a recognized Alberta massage-therapy association (MTAA, CRMTA, NHPC or CMMOTA) and able to obtain professional liability insurance.
• Language of work: English.
• New graduates are welcome; experience is an asset but not mandatory.
