Student members who are in the second year of their Massage Therapy Program and are graduating in 2024 can attend this course and receive PD credits when they become an Active MTAA member.

Once completed, therapists will have gained knowledge and confidence when working with the pregnant population.

Benefits, contraindications, myths, and misinformation will all be explored. Proper positioning, pelvic anatomy, and postural changes during pregnancy will demonstrated. Prenatal massage techniques and draping specific to common concerns will be taught with ample time to practice. Therapists will be introduced to trauma-informed techniques and the concept of birth trauma. Common forms of care will also be defined and discussed.
